A new exotic pest has been reported in the Conero Regional Park in October 2018: the "Marchalina hellenica". It is not harmful to human beings and animals, nevertheless it seriously treats many pine species.
A public event describing the pest, took place at the Conero Park Visitor Centre, Sirolo (An), on 4th June 2019
