Thanks to its high qualified technical and human resources, ASSAM has been appointed by Marche Region Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing Department to support and implement technical activities in the framework of the “ WELLFOOD – Promoting Food Innovation for Wellness in Adriatic” project of which the Region is partner.
WELLFOOD, co-financed in the framework of the II call for proposals of the Adriatic IPA CBC Programme 2007-2013, is led by the Forlì and Cesena Province and involves 10 partners from 7 Countries of the Adriatic Area. The project aims at strengthening the innovative capabilities of the agro-food sector, both through knowledge exchange between Adriatic Countries, and the creation of the ADRIFOOD CLUSTER, a network of researchers, technicians, enterprises, producers, consumers to share know-how and develop new ideas about food quality and safety.
WELLFOOD means trust in the products we eat and quality in our dish, high innovation and food safety standards according to the principle of transparency along the supply chain: from farming to processing and marketing. The multiyear experience gained by ASSAM in developing and implementing quality and traceability systems in cooperation with the Regional Authority plays a crucial role in achieving the transnational following goals:
- strengthening the exchange of knowledge among enterprises, research centers, producers and consumers on food quality and safety and healthy lifestyles;
- improving the innovation abilities in the agro-food sector for the growth and the development of the Adriatic area;
- raising consumers’ awareness on the most relevant findings on research and innovation in agro-food sector (quality and healthy food).
