The Phytosanitary Service provides:

• Import Phytosanitary certificates for plants and plant products coming from third countries;
• Export Phytosanitary certificates;
• Authorisation to plant nurseries;
• Authorisation for EC Plant Passport;
• Accreditation of nurseries trading certificated material or C.a.C (Conformitas Agraria Communitatis);
• Accreditation of Phytosanitary laboratories providing Phytosanitary advice to nurseryman.

The Phytosanitary Service:

• authorises the pruning or pulling down of plane trees;
• inform mayors on the authorisation procedure to use pesticides in urban centres;
• authorises courses to be license to use phytosanitary products;
• conducts diagnostic tests of plant material and of infested or infected soils.

Surveillance of commercial trade

The Marche Region Plant Protecion Service (Marche RPPS) is part of the National Plant Protection Organization.
To preserve high qualitative agricultural products and safeguard the environment, the conservation of the plant production chain implies preventive control and eradication measures of harmful organisms.
The Service provides three controls:

1. Import Phytosanitary Controls
2. Export Phytosanitary Controls
3. Controls on national products, coming from or going to the EU internal market
