Territorial surveillance programmes are essential for the plant pest management, control and prevention.
Environmental survey and plant surveillance play an important role in a context of increasing international world-trade and severe sighs of climate change.
Pest surveillance allows to reduce the gap between the pest first arrival and its detection, as well as to adopt straight control measures against the spread of a new risk in the regional territory.
Pest surveys are organised in close coordination with the National Action Plan in order to improve their effectiveness. They include:
- Plant health surveys on the entire Region;
- Prompt action plans in case of detection of harmful organisms;
- Preventive actions adressed to the professional operators as well as to the citizenship.
